  holiday cheer/hypocrisy/dilemma

  ok, how is everyone handling the upcoming holidays?

  i was raised a jw so never celebrated at all.

  over the years as a married but no kids couple, i have just done whatever my hubby wanted which usually consists of just having dinner at his parents' house.

  My wife loves Christmas and this time of year. Im a bit of a Scrooge though. Being raised as a JW and having no real positive childhood memories combined with the fact that you cant go out in public with out traffic, parking difficulties, or everyone's holiday spirit makes it difficult for me. Not to mention the fact that I dont like the cold and hate winter by mid December. I tend to be a little grumpy this time of year. LOL

  911 was very shocking but for me personally two of the most shocking things that ever happened to me were as follows:

  1) When I was about 12 or so on a Saturday morning I was a little late to wake up. I was curious to where everyone was because my mother, father and sister were no where to be found. The telephone rang and I rushed to be the first to answer it (out of habbit I guess because the only one to beat me to the punch could have been my grandmother with everyone else being gone). My grandmother had already answered so instead of haning up I listened in. The call was for my mother but my grandmother informed the caller that something had happened to my father early that morning and the entire family with the exception of the two of us were at the hospital. No one was shure what was wrong but they suspected a heart attack. I couldnt believe my ears. All I could think of to do was run away. I got on my bike and peddeled around town all day. I didn't ever want to come home.

  2) Two and one half years ago my wife had just given birth to our twins. It was the morning after the delivery and we were both exhausted (OK, her a little more than myself). I decided to go home for a quick shower. She didn't want me to leave but I assured her that I would be back momentarily. No sooner did I get home and out of the shower then the telephone ringed. I picked up the phone to a strange voice asking "Is this Mr. Xxxxx?" "Yes", I replied. "Your wife has had a series of seizures and has been moved from the maternity ward to intensive care. You should come back to the hospital as soon as possible". Well, needless to say I rushed to the hospital as fast as I possibly could. To make the situation even worse, my car was totally out of fuel. I had to stop at a petrol station to put some in or I would have been on the side ot the road hitch hiking. It has never taken so long to put a few dollars of fuel into a vehicle before in my life.

  i was just wandering.... was it just me or was everyone thinking about it..... ive been in a few congs where some of the sisters were absolutely drop dead gorgeous!

  my last cong here in sydney, there was about 160 publishers so the talent was every where... i remember having the hots for this sister, who happens to be the wife of the service overseer... she was xxx hot.

  i remember always having to wear my suit coat to the meeting to hide my excitement.. i think all the bro's must have thought the same thing.

  Not unless you consider facial hair on women as a turn on. Why is it that "sisters" can have facial hair and it's acceptable? I never really though about that until now.

  in my school days (50's) my buddy and i were always into mischief (witness or not.

  I had a teacher that I couldn't stand for my JR and SR years of high school. He would always rearrange the desks in the room to mix up the students and keep things so he could easily view what each student was doing at any given moment. My SR year we were released earlier than all the other students and I knew that the last week of school for the JR's would be spent with busy work and cleaning the lab area which involved moving the desks around. So I glued my desk to the floor with some really potent super glue. I wasn't present to see his reaction but I heard from a buddy of mine that he was pissed. I wish I could of been there but it was gratifying non-the-less.

  My buddy had a 74 Olds Toronato (sp?). It was a long car with vast amounts of trunk space. It was purchased used and was pretty rusted out. The rear quarterpanles has large areas where the sheet metal was gone. Well we got the idea to put one of us into the trunk and drive around busy shopping plaza parkings lots while screaming for help. It was a total riot to see the look on peoples faces as we drove by. Till someone called the cops and my buddy was awakened the next morning with the police on his door step. They asked him a buch of questions like where he was the night before and if he had any one in his trunk. They even asked him to open his trunk for them. Of course he had nothing to hide but it was quite funny.

  Trouble For Richie

  as many of you know, i have a myspace.com account.. apparently, while i was out last night, someone called my mother and informed her of my activities on myspace.

  my mother called and asked me for my login info, and was shocked to see me, and around 40 witnesses in my area having active profiles.

  contents of these profile ranged from a few pictures to downright self-incrimination.

  With this statement the WBTS is prepairing the elders with circular reasoning to avoid the issues. They are preparing the elders for what is coming. Up to this the elders were probablly caught off guard by inquiring JW's that found out through the internet or from apostates. By bringing this subject to the elders with out revealing facts they are making them (and only the elders) aware that this issue will come up and you deal with it by asking your self "does this make sence?"

  Solid reasoning directly from the FDS. Proper food at the proper time. LOL
